Observe & Explore at the Preserve

Observe & ExploreGraham Creek Nature Preserve’s Observe and Explore Days are free events held at the Outdoor Classroom (23460 Wolf Bay Drive). All  of these events are held in the outdoor classroom, (except the Christmas Play Day). Since the activities are outdoors, in the event of severe weather they will be canceled.

Observe and Explore events will all follow the same schedule unless it is a holiday themed event (Easter, Halloween, Christmas) or otherwise noted. Observe and explore ( O& E days) are held the first Wednesday and third Saturday of every month.  Activities will start  at 10:00 am and end around 11:30 am.  The program will begin at 10:00 am with a story that fits the theme. This will be followed by a short lesson with an activity or science experiment. The program will end with a themed craft. The lessons and activities are based on elementary level concepts and skills related to nature. The program is designed to have accompanying adults assist children with the activities.

While we would love to accommodate large groups due to resources and staffing, we can only serve families during scheduled observe and explore events. If you have a large group interested in an observe and explore day, please contact the Interpretive Center office at 251-923-4267 and we will do our best to schedule a time that will fit your needs.
