Thanks to a community grant secured by the South Baldwin Chamber of Commerce and Riviera Utilities, Graham Creek Nature Preserve has received its first arrival of kayak equipment permanently available at the facility. The donated paddlesports gear comprises six (6) single seat sit-on-top kayaks, with paddles and life vests. The kayaks will be utilized for scheduled field trips and guided tours.
Graham Creek Preserve’s kayak and canoe launch has long been a popular drop-in point for paddlers bringing along their own gear. Now, with the new on-site equipment, we will hope to introduce more families to the splendid experience of exploring the Nature Preserve and surroundings from the water. You can find a map of the kayak and canoe trail connecting Graham Creek Preserve and Wolf Bay Park HERE on our website.
Our leadership team is now in discussion about hosting guided kayak tours, which would be free and on a first-come-first served reservations basis. Those guided tours will begin by the end of Summer or early Fall, so stay tuned for updates.
For any questions about the new kayak equipment or to reserve on or more future tours, please email the City of Foley Environmental Office at firstname.lastname@example.org.
