Alabama Water Watch Workshop

Alabama Water WatchGraham Creek Nature Preserve in Foley is pleased to team up with Alabama Water Watch to host a water quality educational and training workshop at 9:00 am CDT on Thursday, August 2nd.

During the workshop, participants will test physical and chemical characteristics of our local water to identify pollution sources and long-term trends in water quality. Six variables are measured with a customized test kit, and results can be compared with water quality standards that define conditions for healthy waterbodies. The workshop will be held at the GCNP kayak launch. We will be working outside for the duration of the event, so please bring sunscreen, insect repellent, drinks and your own lunch (coolers are recommended).  Also, please wear clothing that is sweat wicking, along with a hat and sunglasses. This workshop session is scheduled from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, with a break for lunch.
